Line for throwing in East End ball game (4)
I believe the answer is:
oche
'line for throwing' is the definition.
(line where darts players stand)
'east end ball game' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'east' could be 'e' (synonyms) and 'e' is found in the answer.
'ball' could be 'o' (letter resembling a ball) and 'o' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ch' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for oche that I've seen before include "Line not to be crossed" , "Darts playing line" , "Line from which darts are thrown" , "Missile launchers stand behind this" , "Line of 25 [ARROEWS]" .)
