Listed, as are stilettos? (6)
I believe the answer is:
heeled
'listed' is the definition.
(both can mean leaned or tipped)
'are stilettos?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'are' could be 'led' (leading is a kind of being) and 'led' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'as' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for heeled that I've seen before include "As shoe may be repaired" , "Played the part of a hooker" , "Leant over" , "Most shoes are" , "listed" .)
