Lists of those competing for records (7)
I believe the answer is:
entries
This could be a double definition.
'lists' is the first definition.
(I have seen 'Lists of competitors' mean 'entries' so perhaps 'lists' could also mean 'entries')
'for records' is the second definition.
(entry is a kind of record)
'of those competing' is the link.
This may not be correct. Some or all of it may belong to one of the definitions.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for entries that I've seen before include "Diary items; competitors accepted" , "making appearances on stage" , "Items listed" , "those given admittance" , "Sneer it (anag.)" .)
