Crossword Genius

Literary genre modelled fury (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

satire

'literary genre' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'modelled fury' is the wordplay.
'modelled' becomes 'sat' ('sit' can be a synonym of 'model').
'fury' becomes 'ire' (ire is intense rage).
'sat'+'ire'='SATIRE'

(Other definitions for satire that I've seen before include "sort of ironic humour" , "Biting humour exposing vice, folly etc." , "Sarcastic humour" , "text of Juvenal" , "Use of irony in writing" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
