Looking quickly through the so-and-so book? (8)
I believe the answer is:
flipping
'looking quickly' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are present participle verbs, I cannot understand how they can define each other.
'through the so-and-so book?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'through' could be 'in' and 'in' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for flipping that I've seen before include "Losing it - extremely" , "action required in tiddlywinks!" , "Blooming" .)
