Lots of hot flavours? On the contrary! (7)
I believe the answer is:
iciness
'flavours? on the contrary' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't see how they can define each other.
'lots of hot' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'lots' could be 'c' and 'c' is located in the answer.
'hot' could be 'in' (both can mean fashionable) and 'in' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for iciness that I've seen before include "Hostile or cold nature" , "Such weather" , "Frigidity" , "Chill; reserve" , "unfriendly manner" .)
