Crossword Genius

Love that is about solid, sort of? (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

idolise

'love' is the definition.
('love'->'idolize' is in my internal thesaurus and 'ize'->'ise')

'that is about solid sort of?' is the wordplay.
'that is' becomes 'ie' ('i.e.' can be a synonym of 'that is').
'about' indicates putting letters inside.
'sort of?' is an anagram indicator.
'solid' anagrammed gives 'dolis'.
'ie' going around 'dolis' is 'IDOLISE'.

(Other definitions for idolise that I've seen before include "Make into a figure of worship" , "put on a pedestal" , "Pay inordinate attention to" , "Revere (someone) greatly or excessively" , "Worship (S, not Z)" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
