Lover's new house in Spain (8)
I believe the answer is:
casanova
'lover's' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'new house in spain' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'new' could be 'n' (common abbreviation eg NT for New Testament) and 'n' is found within the answer.
'house' could be 'casa' (Spanish word for 'house' also used in English) and 'casa' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ova' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for casanova that I've seen before include "Legendary lover" , "Notorious lover" , "Memoirist" , "18th century Italian lover" , "Man noted for his amorous adventures" .)
