Lured away, modest indeed (7)
I believe the answer is:
decoyed
'lured' is the definition.
(decoying is a kind of luring)
'away modest indeed' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'modest' could be 'coy' (I've seen this before) and 'coy' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'deed' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for decoyed that I've seen is " Lured".)
