I believe the answer is:

The definition and answer can be both related to change as well as being past participle verbs.

I cannot really understand how this works, but
'go' could be 'advance' (advancing is a kind of going) and 'advance' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'd' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
