Maiden using her mouth in a virtuous way (7)
I believe the answer is:
morally
'in a virtuous way' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'maiden using her mouth' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'maiden' could be 'm' (cricket abbreviation) and 'm' is found in the answer.
'her' could be 'ally' and 'ally' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'or' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for morally that I've seen is " To all intents and purposes - in terms of right and wrong".)
