Make amends, in agreement or harmony, perhaps? (5)
I believe the answer is:
atone
'make amends' is the definition.
(to atone is to make amends for a wrong deed)
'in agreement or harmony perhaps?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'in agreement' could be 'one' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'one' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'at' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for atone that I've seen before include "Make amends, being at one" , "Make redress" , "Turn away from sin and do penance" , "remedy" , "Make up for wrong done" .)
