Make amends together (5)
I believe the answer is:
atone
'make amends' is the definition.
(to atone is to make amends for a wrong deed)
'together' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'together' could be 'one' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'one' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'at' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for atone that I've seen before include "Recompense" , "In agreement - sounds singular" , "Make redress" , "Pay the price" , "Make up, compensate (for)" .)
