Make one joyous sound about another killing (12)
I believe the answer is:
slaughtering
'killing' is the definition.
(slaughtering is a kind of killing)
'make one joyous sound about another' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'one' could be 'i' (Roman numeral) and 'i' is located in the answer.
'sound' could be 'laughter' (I have seen 'Sound of merriment' mean 'laughter' so perhaps 'sound' could also mean 'laughter') and 'laughter' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for slaughtering that I've seen is " killing".)
