Mediterranean dress I trimmed, Indian style (9)
I believe the answer is:
sardinian
'mediterranean dress i' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are adjectives, I can't see how they can define each other.
'trimmed indian style' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'indian' is 'dinian' which is within the answer.
The remaining letters 'sar' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for sardinian that I've seen before include "from an Italian island" , "Native of the Med's second largest island" , "Islander" .)
