Might a child give him a bear hug? (5)
I believe the answer is:
teddy
'bear hug?' is the definition.
'teddy' can be an answer for 'bear' (teddy bear is a stuffed toy). I am not certain of the 'hug?' bit.
'might a child give him a' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'him' could be 'tedd' and 'tedd' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'y' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for teddy that I've seen before include "plaything" , "A child's toy bear" , "Child's soft toy" , "Bear - boy" , "Stuffed bear" .)
