I believe the answer is:

hardline

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'militant hibernian's inauguration transformed' is the definition.
I don't know anything about this answer so I can't judge whether it can be defined by this definition.

'ireland' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'ireland' is 'ardline' which is within the answer.
A single letter 'h' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for hardline that I've seen before include "Tough policy" , "uncompromising" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
