Mog given food, though not all — and stroke (6)
I believe the answer is:
feline
'mog' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'all and stroke' is the wordplay.
'all' becomes 'fe' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'and' says to put letters next to each other.
'stroke' becomes 'line' (stroke can mean a line or bar).
'fe'+'line'='FELINE'
'given food though not' acts as a link.
This may not be right. Some or all of it may be part of another bit of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for feline that I've seen before include "Mog" , "Cat-like" , "Of or like cats" , "Scots dish" , "16 [TOM] perhaps" .)
