Crossword Genius

Money from state regularly — yet too lazy to get up (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

zloty

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'money from state' is the definition.
'zloty' can be an answer for 'money' (I have seen 'Polish money ' mean 'zloty' so perhaps 'money' could also mean 'zloty'). I'm not sure about the 'from state' bit.

'regularly yet too lazy to get up' is the wordplay.
'regularly' indicates alternate letters (regularly take one letter, leave next etc.).
'to get up' shows that the letters should be reversed in order.
'yet'+'too'+'lazy'='yettoolazy'
The alternating letters of 'yettoolazy' are 'ytolz'.
'ytolz' backwards is 'ZLOTY'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for zloty that I've seen before include "Monetary unit in Poland" , "Polish unit of currency" , "Polish money" , "Polish monetary unit" , "Currency of Poland" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
