Money lenders more certain to be found in America (7)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

usurers

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'money lenders' is the definition.
'usurers' can be an answer for 'lenders' (usurer is a kind of lender). I am not sure about the 'money' bit.

'more certain to be found in america' is the wordplay.
'more certain' becomes 'surer' ('sure' can be similar in meaning to 'certain').
'to be found in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'america' becomes 'US' (United States).
'surer' put within 'us' is 'USURERS'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for usurers that I've seen before include "Biblical bankers who overcharged" , "Loan sharks" , "They charge excessive interest" , "They lends money at excessive rates of interest" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
