Move along stand, seats at the end (2,6)
I believe the answer is:
up sticks
'move' is the definition.
(to up sticks is to move house)
'along stand seats at the end' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'stand' could be 'stick' (eg to stick by someone is to stand by them) and 'stick' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ups' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for up sticks that I've seen before include "Move house(colloq.)" , "Move away without warning" , "Make off" .)
