Mum, I hear you’ve got colour! (5)
I believe the answer is:
mauve
'colour' is the definition.
(I know that mauve is a colour)
'mum i hear' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'mum' could be 'ma' (ma can mean mother) and 'ma' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'you've got' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for mauve that I've seen before include "Pale violet colour" , "Purplish colour" , "sort of light seen in West" , "Bluish purple" , "Pale purple colour" .)
