Although both the answer and definition are present participle verbs, I can't understand how one could define the other.

'about continuing to wear?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'about' could be 'on' (as in a book 'on' a certain topic) and 'on' is present in the answer.
'continuing' could be 'keeping' ('keep' can be a synonym of 'continue') and 'keeping' is found in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
