Name the date or finish things? (4,2,1,3)
I believe the answer is:
call it a day
'finish things?' is the definition.
'call it a day' can be an answer for 'finish' (thesaurus). I'm not sure about the 'things?' bit.
'name the date' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'name' could be 'calli' and 'calli' is found within the answer.
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is found within the answer.
'date' could be 'day' (I have seen 'Particular date' mean 'day' so perhaps 'date' could also mean 'day') and 'day' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'a' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'or' is the link.
