Ross

I believe the answer is:

start-up

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'new business's' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'celebrity put-down' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'celebrity' could be 'star' (a star is a celebrity or famous person) and 'star' is found in the answer.
an anagram of 'put' is 'tup' which is present in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for start-up that I've seen before include "launch?" , "Newly established business" , "new venture" , "new business" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
