Crossword Genius

New suit has new sections (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

units

'sections' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'new suit has new' is the wordplay.
'new' indicates an anagram.
'has' indicates putting letters inside.
'new' becomes 'n' (common abbreviation eg NT for New Testament).
'suit' is an anagram of 'uits'.
'uits' going around 'n' is 'UNITS'.

(Other definitions for units that I've seen before include "Single parts of a whole" , "Single undivided wholes" , "Individual things, like pieces of furniture" , "Individual things as parts of a whole" , "Single things" .)

I've seen this clue in The Mirror.
