No drink for slimmers! (5)
I believe the answer is:
stout
'no drink' is the definition.
'stout' can be an answer for 'drink' (type of beer). I'm unsure of the 'no' bit.
'for slimmers' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'for' could be 'to' (eg both can mean 'in the opinion of') and 'to' is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for stout that I've seen before include "Fat; dependable" , "tipple" , "Heavily built; beer" , "Full-bodied" , "Dark ale" .)
