No odds? (5)
I believe the answer is:
evens
'odds?' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'no' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'no' could be 'n' (common abbreviation) and 'n' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'eves' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for evens that I've seen before include "Kind of bet where odds are one to one" , "Exchange, substitute" , "less likely than 27 [ODDS-ON]" , "Presses" , "Level odds?" .)
