Ross

I believe the answer is:

odd one out

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'nonconformist having not even a' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I can't tell whether this works.

'single way to escape 3 3 3' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'single' could be 'neo' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'neo' is located in the answer.
'escape' could be 'out' (as in giving someone an out) and 'out' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'odd' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for odd one out that I've seen before include "Thing or person contrasting with others" , "exception" , "Different individual" , "Individualist" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
