Not artificial eyes, we're told - they see (7)
I believe the answer is:
realise
'see' is the definition.
(I know that see can be written as realise)
'not artificial eyes we're told they' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'not artificial' could be 'real' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'real' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ise' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for realise that I've seen before include "net" , "Tumble" , "appreciate" , "Achieve, make" , "Get the idea?" .)
