Not in good health? Corpulent editor may be unlucky (3-5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

ill-fated

'unlucky' is the definition.
('ill-fated' can be a synonym of 'unlucky')

'not in good health? corpulent editor' is the subsidiary indication.
'not in good health?' becomes 'ill' (I've seen this before).
'corpulent' becomes 'fat' ('fat' can be similar in meaning to 'corpulent').
'editor' becomes 'ed'.
'ill'+'fat'+'ed'='illfated'

'may be' is the link.

(Other definitions for ill-fated that I've seen before include "Destined for bad luck" , "Unlucky, destined to lose" , "Doomed(3.5)" , "Destined to fail" , "Unlucky, bad times ahead" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
