Not leaving list of bequests alone as one wishes? (2,4)
I believe the answer is:
at will
'as one wishes?' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'not leaving list of bequests alone' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'list of bequests' could be 'will' (list of bequests given after someone's death) and 'will' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'at' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for at will that I've seen before include "Whenever one pleases, say fire rifle" , "when one wants" , "Whenever one wishes" , "When I choose" , "Fire .. .... - whenever you're ready" .)
