I believe the answer is:
plain
This could be a double definition.
'not pretty flat' is the first definition.
'plain' can be an answer for 'flat' (I've seen this in another clue). I am not sure about the 'not pretty' bit.
'country?' is the second definition.
(I have seen 'open country' mean 'plain' so perhaps 'country' could also mean 'plain')
