Obstacle to travel around lines? (9)
I believe the answer is:
barricade
'obstacle' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'travel around lines?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'around' could be 'ca' (circa) and 'ca' is found within the answer.
'travel' could be 'ride' (ride is a kind of travel) and 'ride' is present in the remaining letters.
The remaining letters 'bar' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' is the link.
(Other definitions for barricade that I've seen before include "Defensive structure, maybe improvised" , "Fortification, barrier" , "Defend" , "Erected defence" , "Block progress" .)
