Occupy hotel -- soon to accept that (7)
I believe the answer is:
inhabit
'occupy' is the definition.
(I know that occupy is a more specific form of the action inhabit)
'hotel soon to accept that' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'hotel' could be 'h' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.) and 'h' is found in the answer.
'soon' could be 'inabit' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'inabit' is located in the leftover letters.
No letters remain.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for inhabit that I've seen before include "Dwell in" , "Occupy - settle" , "Live in (a place)" , "Occupy (dwelling)" , "Live in, occupy" .)
