Off-colour, like nurseryman perhaps? (5)
I believe the answer is:
seedy
'off-colour' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'nurseryman perhaps?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'perhaps?' could be 'y' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'y' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'seed' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'like' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for seedy that I've seen before include "Out of sorts" , "Down-at-heel" , "Unfit" , "Sleazy, sordid" , "Nasty and squalid" .)
