Old man’s expressions of annoyance and hesitation (6)
I believe the answer is:
geezer
'old man's' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'expressions of annoyance and hesitation' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'hesitation' could be 'er' (sound used when hesitating) and 'er' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'geez' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for geezer that I've seen before include "Diamond bloke?" , "Old man (sl)" , "A man (colloq.)" , "Eccentric man, usually old" , "Fellow (slang)" .)
