Old ship a hunter may be after (6)
I believe the answer is:
bounty
'old ship' is the definition.
'bounty' can be an answer for 'ship' (I have seen 'Mutinous ship ' mean 'bounty' so perhaps 'ship' could also mean 'bounty'). I am unsure of the 'old' bit.
I cannot understand how the rest of the clue works.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bounty that I've seen before include "Premium" , "Generous gift" , "William Bligh's ship" , "more than one of 16 [MUTINEER] took to Tahiti?" , "cornucopia" .)
