I believe the answer is:

ear

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'attention' is the definition.
(having someone's ear is having their attention)

'one drawn in by last two pieces in the skewer' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'one' could be 'a' (a thing is one thing) and 'a' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'er' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

'getting' is the link.

(Other definitions for ear that I've seen before include "Organ of hearing" , "Organ involved with balance" , "Hammer in this" , "Aural organ" , "Seed container" .)

I've seen this clue in The Everyman puzzle in The Observer.
