Crossword Genius

One encouraging others to take your property (6,5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

estate agent

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'one encouraging others to take your' is the definition.
The answer is a person as well as being a singular noun. This is suggested by the definition.

'property' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'property' could be 'estate' (estate is a kind of property) and 'estate' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'agent' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for estate agent that I've seen before include "person to manage property" , "Property dealer" , "Someone who arranges the buying and selling of property for clients" , "House retailer" , "Person supposed to facilitate house sales" .)

I've seen this clue in The Guardian.
