Crossword Genius

Orchestra in assembly room finishing with Beethoven's Third (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

halle

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'orchestra' is the definition.
(The Halle, UK symphony orchestra)

'assembly room finishing with beethoven's third' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'room' could be 'hall' (hall is a kind of room) and 'hall' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

'in' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for halle that I've seen before include "Manchester-based orchestra" , "Noted players" , "Berry, possibly" , "Orchestra based in Manchester" , "Manchester's orchestra" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
