Order from a catalogue over the phone (7)
I believe the answer is:
arrange
'order' is the definition.
(I know that order is a more specific form of the action arrange)
'from a catalogue over the phone' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'from' could be 'e' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'e' is located in the answer.
'a' could be 'an' and 'an' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for arrange that I've seen before include "Bring about or put in order" , "Put in order - organise" , "Organise, plan" , "Place in order" , "Orchestrate - order" .)
