Out of bed and ready to be annoyed (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

upset

'be annoyed' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'out of bed and ready' is the wordplay.
'out of bed' becomes 'up' ('up' can be a synonym of 'out of bed').
'and' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'ready' becomes 'set' ('set' can be similar in meaning to 'ready').
'up'+'set'='UPSET'

'to' is the link.

(Other definitions for upset that I've seen before include "Disturbed or inverted" , "Aggrieved" , "Overturn or discompose" , "Disconcert" , "Knocked over; unhappy" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
