Outlaw prohibited object, we hear (6)
I believe the answer is:
bandit
'outlaw' is the definition.
(bandit is a kind of outlaw)
'prohibited object we hear' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'object' could be 'nd' (Nd is an example) and 'nd' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'bait' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bandit that I've seen before include "Outlawed robber" , "Member of a gang of robbers" , "Armed outlaw" , "Outlaw, robber" , "Dan bit the robber badly" .)
