Outré gift is one of four, get it? (7)
I believe the answer is:
anagram
'get it?' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both related to thinking as well as being verbs in their base form.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?
'outre gift is one of four' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'one' could be 'an' (an apple is one apple) and 'an' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
