Outstanding leaders of men (6)
I believe the answer is:
bosses
'outstanding leaders' is the definition.
'bosses' can be an answer for 'leaders' (boss is a kind of leader). I am not sure about the 'outstanding' bit.
'men' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'men' could be 'se' (I have seen 'Spanish men ' mean 'se' so perhaps 'men' could also mean 'se') and 'se' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'boss' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'of' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for bosses that I've seen before include "Chiefs" , "Overseers, directors or owners" , "Leaders" .)
