Overtake tourist snapping front of Parthenon (8)
I believe the answer is:
outstrip
'overtake' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'tourist snapping front of parthenon' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'tourist' is 'outstri' which is located in the answer.
A single letter 'p' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for outstrip that I've seen before include "Leave behind" , "Perform better than" , "Surpass, overtake" , "Go far ahead of" , "Beat" .)
