Overworked boss at the Shoreditch Times? (9)
I believe the answer is:
hackneyed
'overworked' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'boss at the shoreditch times?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'boss' could be 'ed' (short for editor - newspaper boss) and 'ed' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'hackney' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for hackneyed that I've seen before include "corny" , "Overused, trite" , "Trite (expression)" , "Banal" , "Overfamiliar through overuse" .)
