Paint two animals, taking seconds (8)
I believe the answer is:
emulsion
'paint' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'two animals taking seconds' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'taking' could be 'on' (eg one taking drugs is 'on' drugs) and 'on' is located in the answer.
'seconds' could be 's' and 's' is found in the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for emulsion that I've seen before include "Type of paint" , "Mixture involving two liquids which do not readily combine" , "Mixture of insoluble liquids" , "Wall paint" .)
