Part of a boat upturned in the vegetable garden (4)
I believe the answer is:
leek
'the vegetable garden' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how one could define the other.
'part of a boat upturned' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'part' could be 'lee' (lee is a kind of part) and 'lee' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'k' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'in' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for leek that I've seen before include "Edible plant, Welsh symbol" , "Staffordshire town?" , "Cylindrical vegetable" , "Bulb" , "Welsh national symbol" .)
